Let the party begin!!  Today is Day 1 of my week long giveaway celebrating YOU my followers and friends. It's my birthday, but I want to give the gifts!  I'm kicking off this celebration with Denise from Sunny Days in Second Grade!

Denise is the reason I'm here in the blog-o-sphere and I can't thank her enough. I NEVER thought for a minute I could do this! I NEVER thought I would have anything to say that anyone would care about, but as it turns out, you do care and you are interested! Thank you!

Denise and I met over 15 years ago (could it be 20 years now?). We hit it off right away. I knew she was an amazing teacher from the start! I could always count her to share or help me come up with an emergency project. We've been through some "rough" school days together. We have shared some battles (not with each other) and have laughed until we cried.

    I am a big fan of reading response cards, they are an easy way to get a center going without help from me! I would probably choose her poetry task cards or reading response cards.

    Hey! This blogger was the sunshine in my life when I was 11 years old! Happy Birthday, Gina Bee! You've come a LONG way, baby! Love all your great ideas that you share. I have to imagine your love of reading came from your TWO big sisters who read to you every time you put a book in our hands!!! Your students have been so lucky to have a teacher who inspires them with the love of literacy...and of course, two great kids who love those books, too.
