Show and Tell Tuesday-Spring Bulletin Boards

Sorry I'm late for Show and Tell! Life gets in the way sometimes! LOL!  I'm going to keep this short and simple!

Every year in the "spring" (not really in Florida) I have the kids create these lovely ladybug book reviews. The spots represent the genre of the book they are reviewing. Click ❀HERE❀ to get a sign to display with your ladybugs and the directions for what is included in the book review. The sign is also the "key" I use for the spots. I'm so sorry I don't have the pattern to give you for the body and head.  I think you'll find them pretty simple to make.

Start with a piece of red and black construction paper. The black is big enough for the head and and the spots. I have these patterns made from tag board. I use them year after year.

A piece of looseleaf is needed for the book review writing. Remind kids NOT to cut the V. They should keep this paper whole. As you can see the body is just as wide as the paper, so I hope that gives you a good idea of the size, so you can make your own.

Here is a sample of the book review. I tell the kids to cut the looseleaf with the lines horizontal to make writing neater. This student cut it incorrectly. It's not as neat as I would like. :-)

The final product and display!! I like hanging these in the window. I just think it looks cute and very springy!

ALTERNATIVE: Write bug poems or short stories on the ladybugs instead of a book review.

There you have it! Short and sweet! Hope you like them!
