I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs to share what's been happening in room 851 this week!
#1: I got mail! I won a giveaway from Ideas by Jivey and this week I received my prize...BOOKS! Nothing could be better! I was happy to add Cinderella Smith to my library since it's illustrated by Diane Goode, my cousin.
#2: Our 1st grade book buddies visited us on Friday and gave the kids a little surprise for testing. Aren't these cute?
#3: We are studying the regions of the United States. Instead of just reading through the social studies book, I decided to jigsaw the chapter. I divided the kids into 5 groups and assigned each a region. That had to read and highlight the information and now they are working on creating a poster. We will work on these this week and the groups will present to the class later next week. This will be something fun to work on after testing, too.
#4: I want to give a little shout out to Crystal at The Library Fox. She has a fun little blog and she makes some cute clip art. She created this adorable Mini Me of ME! (LOL!)
She will make one for you, too. Email her a picture and some info about yourself and pretty soon you will be clip art! How fun is this??
#5: I saved the best for last! My hubby (aka Tony Robbins) conducted his usual quarterly math challenge...a student from each winning class would get to slime a (willing) teacher of their choice...well...guess what? I got picked! Friday was the big day. I have to admit it was pretty fun. Myself, along with 3 other teachers including Tony hubby got it! Hubby mixed the slime from water, flour, baby shampoo, and gelatin. It was very thick and stuck to us like glue! I hope this motivates the kids to meet this quarter's ultimate challenge...the winning class will slime my principal! (She is a great sport!)
Look like fun?? I'm still picking green stuff out of my hair! Anything for the kids!

Okay I'm impressed. I did pie in the face, but slime is another thing all together!
ReplyDeleteGood luck this week!

You're a champion! That's a great tradition- don't know if I'd handle being slimed though :)
